I appreciate 1&1′s auto renewal domain feature...
With over 5 million hosted site, and 55,000+ web servers, 1and1 is bound to have a few issues, but seriously, what host even has 20,000 servers.

My uptime has ben very good at 1&1.
My cost and features have been very good.

Most people don’t realize that 99.9% uptime = slightly less than 9 hours outage per year. It just may not seem that why when it’s your server that is down.

Most of what Steve said is reasonable. However I appreciate 1&1′s auto renewal domain feature which keeps me from losing valuable domains. As far as backups, why trust any web host? You should always have an offline backup of your site in case of an emergencty. Support poor at 1&1, it has been just fine for me, maybe the more technical the question, the more difficult it can be to get a good answer, but I would expect this from any host.

" Do not be fooled by these inaccurate bad reviews. The people who have written them are obviously working for other companies or misinformed.

The uptime is great. Never once have I had an issue with 1and1. I have been able to cancel packages that I no longer needed without an issue, their support.

I would definitely recommend 1and1 for all webhosting needs, they wouldn't be the most popular webhost worldwide if they couldn't provide great service. "
